I started playing chess in 1993. The Seattle Chess Club was then located in the Ravenna area. In the early 2000’s, the Club then moved up to Shoreline off 15th Ave NE. Now located in Northgate, the club conveniently located with easy access to Interstate 5. Friday night is the main night where rated games are played.

Great chess players. Really quite and respectful. You do have those kind of players that come in and want a quick hit.

Great Monday casual chess experience, just sign in and pair up to play. They have plenty of boards and clocks if needed.

Well run tournaments, big hearted organizers, players strength from novices to Grand Masters. We always enjoy visiting this club!

Older crowed. Slower games. Not especially strong players. Club is clearly being mismanaged. I go to the chess events on meetup. More fun, casual, and stronger opponents.
