I had a lot of fun arbitering at the PNWCC club this weekend. Xuhao is an excellent organizer and and took care of everything. His hybrid model of tournament was both FIDE and USCF rated and created norm chances for our American players. We were able to play Bulgaria this weekend remotely within FIDE regulations due to camera and audio equipment monitoring the players. There are a number of restaurants and amenities within 2 blocks. The club includes a fridge, microwave, bathroom, and WiFi. The club can accommodate up to 40 players for potential internal tournaments.
It's only been open for a year or so but the PNWCC is already doing so many things right. It would be great to have more hangout room for some of the bigger tournaments, but events are run well and they offer weekly tournaments in many different formats, including FIDE-rated ones. Guest GMs play and teach there regularly. Great addition to the PNW chess community.
Top notch chess tournaments featuring GMs, IMs every month. Tournaments are broadcasted (games and video) for live view similar to the world's top chess events. Off school time feature plenty of GM summer camps.
Really enjoy this new club in Washington. They make great effort to invite strong GMs to play - very helpful for players to get opportunity to play top players.
Great facility, comfortable playing conditions, very professionally run. It was my first time playing with a DGT board which was a cool experience. Highly recommend.
