One of best tennis centers in the world, with best location and surroundings (other few favorites are also in NYC). Possible to get to the center with a car, from W 96th street via West Drive. Located next to a Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir , peaceful nature and woods of upper Central Park, without that much tourists and crowded places. Great place to practice or play tennis, have fun and network with other real tennis fans. Multiple courts, easy to schedule and reserve your time. I have visited it during August 2023, and this video is from that time period. Enjoy

Well, there's a reservoir near there that I walk all around that brings you from the West side to the East side of Manhattan. It's awesome.
The tennis courts are always full and the parks employees take good care of it. It's clean , has restrooms and a tennis shop.
Attached is a picture of the reservoir and a picture of the tennis court as you walk by.

By the lockers there is a noisy and smelly red generator that disturbs the quiet and pollutes the air with its diesel. it goes on day and night everyday. It needs to be removed.

Had a solid time at Central Park Tennis Center. The courts being clay added a cool twist to the game. They usually have open courts, which is awesome. Just a heads up though, you'll need cash for the permits and there's no ATM on site. Four stars because of the cash-only thing, but overall, a great spot to play tennis!
