Visiting Complete Chess yesterday, I had the pleasure of playing a few casual (free) games with talented and helpful chess teachers, as well as meeting the owner, Jesse, who is a high level chess expert as well as a person who is obviously dedicated to increasing the numbers of chess lovers and their skill development. I was visiting from San Francisco, where there is a significant chess playing community, but I was amazed that there are even more opportunities to play over the board chess in San Antonio than San Francisco! And I realize now this is all because of the owner, Jesse James Lozano. Whether you are a parent interested in developing your child's mind, or an adult of any age who is interested in chess, I strongly recommend visiting Complete Chess.

Complete Chess has been very welcoming. I’ve found the tournaments that are played nearly every day of the week to be very helpful for my chess development. The owner and the front desk are both very nice as well. If you’re looking for a chess club in San Antonio, Complete Chess is your best option 😁

This is *the* place for chess in San Antonio. See their website for information about the many opportunities for rated tournament play and great instruction! They also support chess in schools.

Great experience here. My 3rd grader loves the after school chess club, and also really enjoyed the Thanksgiving camp!

Complete Chess is probably the best place for learning and playing chess in South Texas. It's run by NM Jesse Lozano who is one of the strongest, most active, and knowledgeable chess players in the San Antonio region. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive with plenty of opportunities to attend tournaments, lectures, and kibitz. Additionally, they sometimes host lectures and simuls with famous Grandmasters like GM Nigel Short. I'm not sure I could recommend Complete Chess enough for anyone from the budding chess champion to the old and crusty kibitzer!
