The chess wizards at our sons school in Los Angeles, dropped my son for talking and not paying attention the day after I sent his 504 plan for ADHD. That is discriminatory at best. They gave him one shot and then had a mom point out that he has a 504 for adhd and boom drop him from the class THE DAY OF, leaving a mom scrambling to get off work early and heartbroken to tell her son his bad day means he was just canceled from a class with no warning. Don't let this place sign up at your school, they do not support neurodivergent children.

The in-person classes were amazing last year, but even the on-line versions are fun and engaging for my son. The instructors (and we've had many over our time with Chess Wizards), have all been awesome!

My now 8 year old has done Chess Wizards last year and this year through his school. They give bonus, optional homework sheets to do at home after the sessions. Those were the first time my kid ever did homework on his own. He loved it.
After the first full 8 week course of Chess Wizards my kid had to come with me to work. He brought his chess board and gave some adults at my work a real challenge. He’s still learning but he loves it.
It has been a pleasure to watch him get so excited about it. It’s the first program he’s ever done that he wanted to do again the following year. Wish I could sprinkle their magic on other things.

Cancelled class 5 weeks in a row due to not having instructors citing a different excuse every week. I contacted the program director and did not receive a response. Unreliable, unprepared and disappointing experience.
