I found this gem after I decided to get back into chess after 20+ years. I've been searching for a club that's not hosted in a restaurant, book store or other noisey public place. This is a great club, facilities are perfect. Lots of friendly players, wide range of ages from kids to seniors, ratings from ~600 on up. They meet weekly for casual play (G15 seems the norm) and have a monthly rated tournament (G30d5). No fees to play casual chess, no USCF required. If you want to play the monthly tournament the entry fee is $1 (yes you read that right) to cover the cost of rating the games, and you need a USCF membership. Highly recommended.
Local club. Smart players but still made people feel welcome. Definitely worth the trip
Great players, monthly rated tournaments, and lessons.
