The English Federation of Disability Sport, West Midlands (EFDS)

Thanks to this form of publicity it enables us to both thank the host for this service and encourage you to become active within disability sport.

We at EFDS would welcome your enquiries if you are unsure of how to begin being actively involved.

Who are we the EFDS?

As a National organisation our focus is on enabling disabled people the widest scope to undertake sport and physical activities of their choice.

This is primarily undertaken through lobbying and ensuring that the key organisations such as Sport England, the County Sports Partnerships and the different sport Governing Bodies.

Also running this year is an events programme which is unique to the West Midlands. Through a corporate sponsorship deal we are now able to work alongside the following sports to provide either coaching and/or competitions.

  • Worcester Warriors Rugby Club
  • Warwickshire Cricket Club
  • Birmingham FA
  • England Athletics
  • Amateur Swimming Association

There are events happening throughout the year - more news coming soon.

We also support the Special Olympics regional organisation to offer specific sports for people with a form of Learning Disability.

If you are interested for yourself, a colleague, a family member then you should firstly contact your local Authority Leisure department for advice about what is happening with local clubs and leisure centres.

But if you want to reach out further then please contact us direct.
